We, at Grayson Funeral Home, understand after the loss of a loved one, there are many times during the year, which are especially difficult for families. Christmas can be most difficult since it is a time for families to gather together. The first holiday season without the presence of your loved one is understandably the most difficult.
Several years ago, we decided to give our families something that could comfort and support them as they begin the holiday season. As a community service, we are again hosting a “Holiday Memorial Service” for families we have served this past year. We will have a Christmas tree decorated with lights. Upon receiving the enclosed form and the verification of your desire to attend, we will personalize an ornament with your loved one’s name and it will be placed upon the tree. After the service, a family member will receive this ornament. Additional ornaments, if needed, can be purchased for two dollars each. You are encouraged to take these ornaments home and hang them on your Christmas tree.
Our “Holiday Memorial Service” will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at our funeral home located at 893 High Street in Charlestown. The service will last approximately half an hour. Refreshments will be served after the service.
In the case of inclement weather we will have a snow make-up day planned for this year. That day will be on December 15th at the funeral home and same time applies.
It is our hope that by attending our “Holiday Memorial Service” the holiday season will be just a little bit easier for you.
