Wanda Melvina (Baker) Wright

Wanda M. Wright, 94 of Charlestown, IN passed away at her home on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Wanda was born on September 25, 1927, in Leavenworth, IN the daughter of Melvin E. and Alice M. Baker. She retired from the United States Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, IN after several years of service. Wanda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Charlestown, IN and the New Washington Order of the Eastern Star. She had many special interests and hobbies during her life including, crossword puzzles, reading, sewing, canning, and gardening. Wanda was known for her service to those that came into her life, was a great cook and had a loving and caring way with her family especially her grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by her sons, David Wright of Charlestown, IN, Richard Wright of Shiloh, IL and Timothy Wright of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Jane Bennett of Carmel, IN and Margie Johnson of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Sarah Stricker and her husband Jason, Sam Wright, Matthew Wright, Michael Wright and his wife Melissa, Whitney Wright and Benjamin Wright; great-grandchildren, Jaden, Hailey, Isabella, Izabella, Zander, Deegan and Paislee. She was preceded by her parents; husband, Marvin Ray Wright 1993; son, Paul Ray Wright 1992; sisters, Norma Jean Senn and Berdie McMahel Senn; brother, Travis Baker; grandson, Jacob Wayne Wright 2013; granddaughter, Rachel Cross 2018; daughter-in-law, Patsy Sue Wright 2011.

Life Celebration Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of service. Expressions of Sympathy in Memory of Wanda may take the form of donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
