Reta Faye Manley, 63 of Otisco, IN passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her home.
Reta Faye was born February 6, 1957 in Whitesburg, KY, the daughter of Curtis Elmo and Lois Jean Raleigh Day who preceded her in death. She was a Special Education Teacher for Greater Clark County Schools for many years. Reta Faye was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Scottsburg, IN Branch. Reta Faye was true to her heritage as a mountain Momma. She enjoyed fishing, shooting guns and bows, and camping. Much of her life centered around music, singing with her sisters as a child, and through adulthood playing guitar and songwriting. She found solace outdoors, especially in her garden. Reta loved to can and freeze the fruits of her labor. Her faith, family, and roles as a wife, mother and grandmother were most important to her. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Manley whom she married on December 12, 1999; sons, Jason Poindexter and his wife Amy of Otisco, IN and Nathan Poindexter and his wife Samantha of Sellersburg, IN; daughters, Jennifer Bradley of New Albany, IN and Sarah Nethery of Otisco, IN; step children, Jennifer Morris of Otisco, IN and Eric Manley of Elizabeth, IN; sisters, Joanna Combs of Scottsburg, IN and Rachel Reynolds of Cordova, TN; brothers, Gary Day of Charlestown, IN and Bobby Day of Otisco, IN; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Tony, Alan, Jaxon, Reis, Tristan, Riley, Anthony, and Mia Faye; three great-grandchildren, Carter, Samuel, and Amelia along with many nieces and nephews.
Life celebration services will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial to follow in Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 beginning at 10am until the time of services at 2pm.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Reta Faye may take the form of donations to any local Goodwill.
