Jerry L. Sanders

Jerry L. Sanders, 78 of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at University of Louisville Hospital.

Jerry was born on February 21, 1942 in Clark County, IN was raised by Anna and Frank Johnson. He was retired after 30 years of service from the old Indiana Bell phone company and at the end of career became Ameritech.  Jerry was Baptized at Nabb Presbyterian Church and attended his whole life when he was able. He was a member of the American Legion in Jeffersonville, IN and Telephone Pioneers. Some of the loves of his life was family including his grandchildren that brought him such joy, old cars especially the 1956 Chevy, and taking care of his 1988 Mercedes 300 class car.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Clara Cole Sanders; son Mark C. Sanders (Sherri) of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Jackson Sanders and Taylor Sanders; sister-in-law Betty Wilson Cole; and several nieces and nephews.

Life Celebration Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Grayson Funeral in Charlestown with private burial in Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday until 1:00 PM.
