James W. Roberts

James W. Roberts 79, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday July 28, 2023, at Norton’s Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on October 3, 1943, in Louisville, KY to Silas and Dorothy Patterson Roberts.  Jimmy was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a retired employee of Ford Motor Company, a member of North Charlestown Church of God, American Legion Post 335, V.F.W. Post 1427 and the Sellersburg Moose Lodge. Jimmy enjoyed spending time at the river, buying and refurbishing old Ford Tractors, fishing, dirt track racing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his sons, Ryan Roberts (Angela) of Charlestown, Brad Roberts (Melissa) of Charlestown, sister, Wilma Wampler of Charlestown, fiancé, Tami Flynn Ross and her daughter Brooke McDonald (Keith) both of Charlestown; grandchildren, Andrew Roberts, Corey Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Jarrett Roberts, Jacob Jones, Derek Snyder, Lorrayna Snyder, Garrett Applegate, Gannon McDonald, Gage McDonald, Kylie McDonald, Kolton McDonald; 6 great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday August 2, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and after 9:00 am on Wednesday.
