James Henry Lindsey, I 81, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 24, 1942, in Indianapolis, IN to William and Wetona Sharp Lindsey. James was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle in Louisville, KY, a Navy Veteran, and a cabinet maker for Cardinal Kitchen in Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mike Lindsey, and sister, Darlene Long.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Schmidt Lindsey; sons, James Lindsey, II and his wife Diana of Scottsburg, IN, Joseph Lindsey and his wife Jessica of Charlestown; daughter, Leah Lindsey and her husband Will Claritt of Cocoa Beach, FL; brother, Bill Lindsey of Hawaii; grandchildren, Aaron Purvis, Malkom Claritt, Angel Lindsey, James Lindsey, II, Alana Steele and Katrina Lindsey.
Life Celebration Services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday.
