Henry Wright Obituary

Henry L. Wright, 87, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hillcrest Village. He was born on April 19, 1933 to the late Jesse and Carrie Smith Wright. Henry was a veteran of the United States Air Force and stationed at the McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas.
He also served in the Air Force Reserve Unit. Henry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Trinity Baptist Church. He graduated from Taylor High School where he played basketball. Henry enjoyed collecting comic books and gospel albums, his favorites were; Superman, Batman, and Spiderman and albums by the Soul Stirrers and Sam Cooke. He was a quiet person and outgoing. He was employed at Clark County Hospital in Jeffersonville for several years.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Anthony Ray Oglesby Wright of Charlestown, IN and Richard Wright of Wichita, Kansas; 2 granddaughters; 4 great granddaughters all of Wichita; his brother, Dr. Jesse R. Wright of Lawton, OK; loving sister, Earlene Naomi(Wright) Griffin; beloved companion, Juanita Oglesby and a host of nieces and nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Gallarar and Lola Wright of Jeffersonville, IN; and his former wife, Eunice Wright of Wichita.
The family has chosen cremation with a Life celebration memorial to be held at a later date.
