George Marion Shepherd, Jr

George Marion Shepherd, Jr. 71 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday May 8, 2023, at his home.

He was born on July 2, 1951, in Scott County, IN to George M. and Mary Yount Shepherd.  He was Union Organizer for the United Commercial Food Workers Union Local #227 and a member of the Bass Master Club.  George enjoyed supporting Indiana University Sports, bass fishing, watching Andy Griffith and grilling steaks and eating fish.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marie Shepherd.

George is survived by his daughter, Gena Johnson (Jason) of Sellersburg, IN, son John Browning (Debbie) of Milltown, IN; brother, Donnie Shepherd of Otisco, IN; sisters, Norma Croft of Jeffersonville, IN and Mary Young (Scott) of Otisco; grandchildren Courtney Marie Pu, Kaylee Marie James and Aiden Lee Johnson.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday May 16, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on Monday and after 9:00 am on Tuesday.
