Gary Wayne Grant, Sr

Gary Wayne Grant, Sr., 68 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday April 7, 2022, at his home.

He was born on October 6, 1953, in Louisville, KY to Benjamin and Velma Cook Grant.  Gary was a former mechanic and an Army Veteran.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1427 and American Legion Post 335 in Charlestown and the River City Masonic Lodge in Louisville, KY. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing golf and trap shooting.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jan Evans.

Gary is survived by his wife, Katherin Morgan Grant; son, Gary Grant, Jr ( Melissa Caldwell) of Pekin, IN; daughter, Brenda Ross (Jim) of Charlestown; step daughter, Tammy Kahafer of Charlestown; step son, Mike Compton of Charlestown; sister, Ann Gafford (Dave) of Russell Springs, KY; grandchildren, Courtney Grant, Lance Grant, Devyn Grant, Jennifer Snyder, Terry Kahafer, Matthew Kahafer, Cari Kahafer and Shane Compton; great grandchildren, Hannah Compton, Emmerson Myers, Carter Snyder, Kaden Snyder, Riley Simms and Journey Pate, Jacklyn Burke, Kelsey McAdams, Kaylee McAdams and Zachariah James.

Life Celebration Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday April 15, 2022, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Friday.

Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
