On November 1, 2019, Bob Weixler passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 17, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jean Lois (Shields) and Robert H. Weixler, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vicky Baldauf.
Bob is survived by wife Pattie (Halloran) who was his high school sweetheart whom he met in 8th grade; son Andy (Jen) Weixler of Carmel, IN; daughter Jenny Ernst of Jeffersonville, IN; five grandchildren; sister and brothers June (William) Mohns of Madeira Beach, FL; James Weixler of Spring Hill, FL; Michael (Diane) Weixler of Ft. Wayne, IN; Chris (Pam) Weixler of Louisville, KY; and a beloved uncle Thomas Shields of Dayton, OH.
Bob was generous to family, friends, and strangers. He loved Michigan State football and UK basketball. Bob enjoyed camping with grandchildren and other family and was a supporter of the Great Smoky Mountains Association.
Bob had a strong work ethic, enjoyed his work families, and mentoring younger professionals throughout his career. A Certified Public Accountant, he started working for Coopers & Lybrand and then spent most of his career as a Chief Financial Officer for companies including Fetter Printing, Hamilton Printing, MPS, and H&R Block. Additionally, he created or helped to start several companies before retiring from full-time work several years ago. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in June 1964.
