Robert “Bob” Hall, 88 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at his home.
Bob was born on November 7, 1931 in Louisville, KY the son of Richard Thomas and Mildred Doss Hall. He was a self-employed contractor and spent most of his working life building homes in the area. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received several medals and commendations including a Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantry Badge and was a member of Charlestown Independent Church. He built and restored his 1950 dark blue Chevy Pick-up from the frame up. Bob would travel to area car shows, winning several awards through the years but spending time with his wife and family was his first love.
Bob is survived by his wife, Wanda Brashear Hall; children, Cyrus Brashear and his wife Debbie of Hazard, KY, Robert Hall and his wife Nora of Louisville, KY, Richard Hall of Palermo, ME, Rosa Cole and her husband Edward of Louisville, KY and Marquita Brashear McCutcheon and her husband Ed of Sellersburg, IN; twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Janes, Edna Doyle and Mabel Simms; brothers, Buddy and Donnie Hall; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Wathen.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11: 00 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with Burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 9:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
