Maurita M. Hess, 90 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.
Maurita was born in New Amsterdam, IN on December 10, 1927 the daughter of William and Lutisia Applegate Barks. She retired after 30 years with State Farm Insurance at its office in Jeffersonville, IN and was a member of the Sellersburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert Hess; daughter, Teresa Gregory and her husband Bob of Charlestown; granddaughter, Kerri Dickerson and her husband Christopher of New Albany, IN; two great-grandchildren, Kyan and Ari; nieces, Linda Cearbaugh of Raleigh, NC and Joyce Ann Jenkins of Corydon, IN. Maurita was preceded in death by her parents, son, Terry Hess in 2014; sisters, Aileen and Pauline; brothers, Walter and Forrest.
Memorial services for Maurita will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will also be held on Thursday beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
