Harold "Hezzie" Taylor

Harold “Hezzie” Taylor, 71 of Saluda, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Hezzie was born on August 21, 1945 in Saluda, Indiana the son of Harold Homer “Bud” and Reno Cable Taylor. Hezzie owned and operated Saluda Body Shop for over 30 years and formerly worked at Midwest Pro Painting. He was a United States Navy Veteran, member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Vintage Tractor Club and the Painters Union Local #118. He loved restoring his 1942 Studebaker and going fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Gladys Greer Taylor; sons, Dale Taylor and his wife Taryn of Lexington, IN and Reuben Davis and his companion Mary of North Vernon, IN; sister, Judy Stanley of Hanover, IN; brothers, Vincent R. Taylor and Obie Taylor both of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Hannah, Charlotte, Kyra, Keith, Kyle and Makalagh; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Harley, Daniel and Taylor; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Reva Lou Hatchell, infant brother, twin infant brother and sister, sister-in-law’s, Evelyn and Sharon Taylor; brother- in-law, Lester Hatchell. Hezzie’s family would also like to acknowledge and thank Patricia Courtney, Weed Stanley, Linda Epperson, Sandy Epperson and other friends for all their help during Hezzie’s sudden illness.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 6:30 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover by Rev. Dan Corbin and Rev. Steve Herald. Visitation will also be held on Thursday beginning at 3:30 P.M. until the time of services.

Hezzie chose cremation after his funeral services. Military Graveside Services will be accorded by the Madison American Legion Post # 9 on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Madison to inter is ashes in a niche at the cemetery.
