Doris Eleanor (Bare) Kemp

Doris Eleanor Kemp, 96 of Lexington, IN passed away on Thursday October 19, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 31, 1921 in Lexington, IN to Melvin and Mae Parker Bare.  She was a former employee of the I.C.I. in Charlestown, IN and the old Whitlatch’s Grocery in Lexington.  She was also a member of the Lexington Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Kemp; sister, Virgie Sutherland; brothers, Ernest and Leslie Bare; great grandsons, Shane Maddex who died in 2016 and Michael Maddex who died in 2014.

Survivors include her daughters, Vivian Daniel of Tuscola, IL and Phyllis Jean Harvey of Hanover, IN; brother, Clifford Bare of LaPorte, TX; grandchildren, Mike Daniel, Steve Daniel, Gerrold Daniel, Teresa Rose, Sandy Allen, Rick Rose and Penny Sullivan; 17 grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Lexington Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday and after 11 am on Wednesday.
