Jimmy Ray Jackson, 69 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Norton’s Hosparus Care Center in Louisville, KY.
Jimmy was born on April 14, 1948 in Seymour, IN the son of William Ray and Edella Johnson Jackson. He retired from AT&T and served in the United States Army. Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church, Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226 and VFW Post #1427 all in Charlestown. He loved his family, enjoyed fishing and woodworking
Survivors include his wife Linda Martin Jackson; daughters, Tracie J. Mohr and her husband Richard of Harrison, OH and Patricia Oswald and her husband Kirk of Louisville, KY; son William M. Jackson and his wife Sarah of Winston-Salem, NC; brother, Jerry Jackson and his wife Lynda of Jeffersonville, IN; sister, Linda Driver and her husband Steven of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Kelsey Jackson, Tyler Oswald, Hunter Oswald, Andrew Mohr and Jesse Mohr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with a Masonic service on Monday at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will also be held after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at his church. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jimmy may take the form of donations to Hosparus of Indiana or First Baptist Church Hope Center.
