I was a student of Mr. Knies a few years ago. I didn't get to know him very well but I could tell he was a kind soul. The memory that sticks most in my mind is when he got someone to stop picking on me. I won't ever forget that.

I worked with David as a Local ISTA Leader from Madison, IN. He was a pleasure to work with and a great advocate for Public Education in Indiana. He will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
